TRUE STORY— I just saw my functional Dr. and OBGYN for a follow up appt on bloodwork I had done in the fall. My hormone levels weren’t concerning, but there was room for slight improvement (mainly in estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone). So I did what I’ve done before with success- I got back on my hormone healthy carrot salad grind. The results came back after 3 months last week and we couldn’t believe it. Everything had totally balanced out — and I credit this salad and my morning shots of EVOO! 🍋 because besides probiotics and magnesium, I was not taking any supplements. 

This raw carrot salad offers benefits related to hormone health, primarily due to its high fiber content and ability to support gut health, which plays a crucial role in hormone regulation. The fiber in raw carrots can help bind and remove excess estrogen, reducing estrogen dominance (lots of women have this). Additionally, the salad’s nutrients and fiber help to lower inflammation and support healthy cortisol levels, which are important for overall hormone balance. And the nervous system !! 

Here’s how I make it:
RAW CARROT SALAD 🥕🥕
-5-6 shaved carrots 
-1 tbsp coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
- couple big pinches of salt
- squeeze of 1/2 lemon
- 2 tsp rice vinegar 
- 2 tsp maple syrup 
Sesame seeds to top

Warning.. you will be so addicted to this. It’s shocking how quickly I can delete 5 carrots when they consist of this salad 😅

At least I got my groceries for the week… 

😅 the 5:30am wake up call this morning feels like a year ago. Unsure what made me book that early or a flight after a bachelorette (!?), but it does have its perks. When I have these big weekends sometimes it feels good to get home and still get 1 or 2 things done for the week… plus still have plenty of time for couch rotting. 

Other times absolutely nothing happens and you give your body the rest it needs. That’s important too!! Make it micro goals you can accomplish — for me it’s groceries and a walk today. 

Let yourself have fun, without guilt or regret ♥️🌴🌞 I wouldn’t trade these weekends with my friends for anything!

Trigger warning 🫣 lots of wax 👂🏼😅

I have always wanted to do this and OMG it did not disappoint!! Ear candling goes back centuries. Not only does it help remove old wax, but also bacteria, and other debris from the ear canal. It is incredible if you suffer with sinus issues and infections, and can improve hearing or even reverse hearing loss.

Of course our ears need wax, and wax serves a purpose. So there’s no need to candle your ears often — but a couple times a year is great for a deep clean and maintenance! I will definitely be going back 👀 as someone that has relatively “clean ears” (I never see wax) this was CRAZY.

We kinda freaked out about this one 🍫🍫
Versions of these dates balls are ALL over my fyp, and I can see why. These are a new weekly staple, and there’s so many different ways to make them!! (Not to mention the benefits of consuming dates 😮‍💨)

CRISPY BROWNIE BITES
• 1 cup pitted dates
• 1/4 cup rice cereal
• 1/4 cup cocoa powder
• 2 tbsp maple syrup 
• 1 spoonful of nut butter (I used granola butter)
• 1 scoop protein powder 
• big pinch of salt 

Combine everything in a food processor until it forms one big dough ball. If the dough isn’t forming, add a tsp of water and it’ll stick together. It really depends on the food processor, mine worked with the above measurements! 

I melted chocolate to dunk the balls in. For extra crunch add rice cereal to the melted chocolate as well, and top with flaky sea salt. Enjoy!! 🍫

DATE GRANOLA BARS -one bag pitted dates (about 12-15 dates) -1 1/3 cup GF rolled oats -4 tbsp chia seeds -1/2 cup choc chips (add more/less what you like!) -add 1 tsp water at a time if too dry once blended -ALSO a couple scoops of vanilla or chocolate protein powder for extra protein! If you have a food processor, blend ingredients there. If not, use your blender! Spread ingredients on parchment paper (in my case foil) and shape into large rectangle. Sweet tooth lovers 🤝🏼 getting in our protein.  (for about 4 servings)  HIGH PROTEIN CHOCOLATE MOUSSE 🍫 — 1 small tub cottage cheese (16 oz) — 2/3 cup cocoa powder  — 2 scoops chocolate protein powder  — 1/2 cup powdered sugar (I used powdered monkfruit) you can use any sweetener of choice, just make sure it’s powdered or liquid, or the texture will be grainy. — optional toppings: nut butter, melted chocolate, sea salt Put everything in a food processor and pulse for about 15-20 seconds to get it creamy. I place into jars and add granola butter and a chocolate shell. You can always taste and see what more you’d like to add.
